High School Math Teacher
St. Francis Xavier Catholic Schools is seeking a High School Math Teacher for 2nd term, starting mid January. The High School Math Teacher is responsible for teaching math to high school students, while demonstrating the characteristics of a positive Christian role model. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics, a commitment to academic excellence, and the ability to engage and inspire students in the study of catholic religious principles.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans for teaching mathematics, including courses in Algebra 1, Honors Algebra 1, Intermediate Algebra, and Probablilty and Statistics
- Faciliate course work thru Project Lead the Way
- Understand NCTM’s principles and standards as well practices for a high-quality mathematics education for all students
- Prepare and present effective lessons for student learning, including differentiation of instruction and addressing individual learning plans.
- Design appropriate assessments to evaluate student understanding and progress. Provide timely feedback to students to support their academic growth.
- Work collaboratively with a department to effectively present mathematical concepts and prepare students for college and career.
- Maintain open and effective communication with parents/guardians on students’ progress and course objectives.
- Collaborate with Xavier Middle School math teachers to ensure continuity of curriculum and implementation of effective instructional strategies
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree with a major in Mathematics, or Education with a Mathematics minor (includes at least 12 hours of credits in teacher education as part of or in addition to the degree)
- Current WI DPI license or ability to obtain a WI DPI teaching license upon hire
- Previous teaching experience in high school mathematics preferred

- Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology and learning methodology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with diverse student populations and foster a supportive learning environment
- Submission to legal background check
- Demonstrate proficiencies in the use of technology including hardware, software and applications
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
- Willingness to participate in Foundational Catechetical Certification (FCC)
