Foster Care Leader

Objective

The Church of Eleven22® and Hope’s Closet® are seeking a compassionate, driven and dedicated Foster Care Ministry Leader to join our team. Building on the ministry momentum created during the 10:10 Life discipleship journey, this role is pivotal in developing and strengthening our Foster Care Ministry. Responsibilities would include recruiting, retaining and supporting foster families within our church, as well as cultivating partnerships within the broader community. The ideal candidate will have a heart for ministry, a strong understanding of trauma-informed practices and exceptional organizational and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruitment of Foster Families
    • Recruit: Actively recruit foster families from The Church of Eleven22 and Hope’s Closet congregations
    • Follow-up: Answer questions, provide resources and discuss next steps via phone and text
    • Community engagement: Partner with organizations like Better Together and local agencies to continue recruitment and support of foster families
  • Retention and Support of Foster Families
    • Maintain wrap around-care: For foster families by utilizing The Rock database to connect families into disciple groups providing wrap-around care
    • Collaboration: Meet regularly with campus Discipleship Ministers to match groups to foster families and equip these groups with necessary resources
    • Trainings: Train team leaders in every disciple group
    • Quarterly check-ins
  • Support and Training Within the Church
    • Trauma-informed training: Partner with Eleven22 Kids and Eleven22 Student Ministries to train serve staff with best practices for caring for children with a history of trauma
    • Continuing education: Attend training to stay on the cutting edge of all things foster care
    • Special needs collaboration: Work with the Eleven22 Kids and Special Needs Ministry to support children from the foster care system with special needs
    • Care Ministry support: Act as the primary resource for the Care Ministry regarding children in the foster care system and those in at-risk environments
  • Community Outreach
    • Local agency collaboration: Meet quarterly with local agencies from surrounding counties to address potential needs
    • Hope’s Closet voucher program: Oversee the voucher partnership with FSS to provide immediate resources for foster families and children
    • Hope’s Closet donation drives: Oversee the annual Hope’s Closet donation drives that support local foster children in partnership with The Church of Eleven22 and local partners
    • Faith-based coalition meetings:
      • Attend quarterly faith-based coalition meetings in Saint Johns County as the representative for The Church of Eleven22 and Hope’s Closet
      • Attend monthly community alliance meetings in Duval County and Nassau County as the elected faith-based leader of the community representing The Church of Eleven22
    • Licensing classes: Attend licensing classes for local agencies to promote the Foster Friendly App to newly licensed families
  • National Partnerships
    • Kingdom resources: Develop Christ-centered resources based on best practices in the Foster Care Ministry
    • Meet monthly with national partners in the Foster Care Ministry

  • Continued Development: Continue to develop kingdom resources for best practices in the Foster Care Ministry


 Education and Experience

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in foster care and at least two years of experience in church ministry
  • Education: TBRI trained (Trust-Based Relational Intervention) to better inform trauma-informed practices
