Quality Control Manager

Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) is seeking an experienced Quality Control (QC) Manager to oversee quality operations in our high-performance electronics hardware manufacturing environment. This role ensures that components, assemblies, and finished products meet internal quality standards, customer expectations, and relevant industry certifications. This is a full-time, onsite day-shift position, with responsibilities carried out across both office and production floor environments.

The ideal candidate brings proven leadership in quality systems, strong knowledge of inspection and manufacturing processes, and hands-on experience with electronics hardware, PCB assembly, and mechanical inspection.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the QC team, including supervisors, inspectors, and support staff
  • Define, implement, and enforce quality control procedures for incoming materials, in-process production, and final product release
  • Ensure compliance with internal protocols and external standards (IPC, ISO 9001, RoHS, etc.)
  • Oversee the maintenance of accurate quality records, inspection reports, and related documentation
  • Conduct root cause analysis of quality issues and lead implementation of corrective/preventive actions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain to resolve quality challenges and improve product reliability
  • Participate in and lead continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean and Six Sigma projects
  • Allocate resources effectively to meet quality, productivity, and staffing needs
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop QC team members; lead onboarding of new hires
  • Report on quality metrics and performance trends to senior leadership

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or higher in manufacturing, industrial or mechanical engineering, or a related field; equivalent years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required degree
  • Minimum of seven (7+) years of work experience, including three (3+) years in a leadership role
  • Familiarity with interpreting engineering drawings
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently and make independent decisions guided by policies, procedures, and business structure
  • Computer proficiency and a high level of organization with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work onsite from our facility located at 9901 Silicon Prairie Parkway in Verona, WI

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, industrial or mechanical engineering, or a related field
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality systems
  • Certification in IPC-A-610, IPC-A-600, or similar standards
  • Experience with PCB fabrication and assembly, SMT processes, and mechanical machining
  • Proficiency with inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMMs
  • Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and mechanical drawing interpretation
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and quality management software
  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive organizational change
