New Source Medical is focused on improving patient outcomes across the entire continuum of care by providing healthcare equipment solutions. New Source offers a comprehensive suite of therapeutic support surfaces, bariatric products; negative pressure wound therapy, and other durable medical equipment products for short-term and long-term equipment rentals to healthcare facilities.
Our full-time Repair Technician troubleshoots to component level and repairs all company durable medical equipment (bed frames, low-air-loss mattresses, pumps/controllers, trapezes and lifts); maintenance of all medical equipment. Light travel is required.
- Organizes and prioritizes repairs based on area equipment needs.
- Reconditions product by bringing up to current manufacturing specifications and checking to ISO standards.
- Prepares repair estimates and statements including additional actions or steps that need to be taken to ensure successful operation of the product.
- Travels to company warehouses outside of home warehouse to conduct repairs.
- Quality inspects and tests all equipment to ensure conformance to manufacturer design and safety standards
- Quality inspects/calibrates/tests and document all test equipment assigned to designated work area according to ISO department procedures.
- Evaluates returned equipment and parts; communicates with corporate regarding needed repairs, cause of damage, warranty issues, etc.
- Cleans and maintains equipment.
Helps during peak times as a back-up delivery driver to set up medical equipment in nursing homes and acute care hospitals:
- Troubleshoots and assesses whether repairs/maintenance is to be made on site or at warehouse and provides repairs as needed.
- Trains medical staff on the proper use and safety of the equipment
- Provides great customer service; exudes professionalism
- Maintains company-provided cargo van in accordance with policies
QUALIFICATIONS of the REPAIR TECHNICIAN:
- Associates degree in electronics desirable but not required or equivalent technical training or experience in repairs/equipment maintenance.
- Mechanically inclined
- Must possess knowledge of electronics and mechanics
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must be able to lift up to 80lbs
- Must have clean driving record
- Must submit to drug test and background check immediately after job offer
