Food & Events Intern
With more than 15,000 restaurants, North Texas isn’t short on opportunities to cover food. A great Food & Events intern at The Dallas Morning News cares as much about the latest restaurant opening as they do about the effect of new tariff policies on prices for small business owners and consumers.
This role also supports coverage of local events—everything that makes people’s leisure time worthwhile, from a new exhibit opening to the latest immersive experience blowing up on TikTok.
Assignments may include quick-turn breaking news, in-depth features, data-driven enterprise, and listicles spanning the dining scene, food business, current affairs and politics affecting the culinary world, and things to do around town.
You will also be expected to:
Take smartphone photos and video.
Actively use social media in the news-gathering process.
