Chassis Development Engineering Intern

Job Summary: 

Main responsibility will be working in Chassis Development supporting senior/lead engineers on product development, performance testing, perform basic analysis based on tests results and will work on virtual tools for simulation and postprocessing. Will use AI based tools, Matlab and software for Vehicle Dynamics simulation. Will also participate in simple technical problem solving and recommend alternate solutions and creation of tools to increase team’s efficiency. Technical report preparation for senior engineer to review and presentation for leadership on the end of internship.

 

Expected Outcomes:

The intern will:

  1. Gain an understanding of automotive damper function and challenges;
  2. Gain an understating of simple problem solving approach;
  3. Exposure to damper internal valving component and assembly;
  4. Exposure to instrumentation and data acquisition activities;
  5. Exposure to CAE tools for damper and vehicle simulation and post processing data;
  6. Competence in technical report writing.

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Be in the pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and completed first year of coursework.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.8.
  • Demonstrated high level of enthusiasm in mechanical design and automotive industry
  • Experience coordinating and facilitating several small or one major project.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Very good organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work independently while provided proper direction. 
  • Experience with PCs and application software, such as MS Office tools, CAD (other to be added)
  • Preferred:
    • Experience with Matlab and full vehicle simulation software;
    • Vehicle Dynamics understanding.

 

Additional Notes:

  • Car needed.
  • U.S. Citizen or documentation of eligibility to work in the United States.
