Peer Tutor - Center for Academic Success - FWS
Center for Academic Success (CAS)
Academic Student Leadership
Tutor
The CAS provides assistance to advance student learning and the academic process. Our goal is to help students become successful learners. Students learn how to learn while learning what to learn.
We seek excellence as well as diversity within the CAS. We want outgoing, positive individuals that will model our Union core values: Excellence-Driven, Christ-Centered, People-Focused, and Future-Directed. CAS understands that a tutor is, above all, a student. However, a tutor should be the type of student who can handle CAS responsibilities and academic requirements without neglecting either. Working as an on-call peer tutor can provide some of the best workplace training possible; they must be dependable, motivated, caring and responsible (all valuable qualities to employers).
Qualifications -- Tutors must:
•Have a minimum of a B in the courses you wish to tutor
•Have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0
•Be recommended by the chair or professor in the department which you wish to serve
•Have completed at least 24 hours of college work at Union
•Be ethical, responsible, positive, and enjoy helping others
