Product Development Intern

Our Summer Intern program gives students an opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience, exposure to key leaders, group projects, time to build relationships with other Interns, and so much more!

Opportunity:  

This position will support the seats product development engineering team with a focus on new product development (NPD) and current product development (CPD) projects. As the individual grows within the position their responsibilities and opportunities will grow accordingly. 

Specific Responsibilities:  

  • Support current project activity through lab testing and design activity as assigned by mentor; Scope of work may include new product development, innovation exploration, current product support, and lab improvements. 
  • Gain experience in using the Bemis design tools, familiarity with Bemis manufacturing processes, and overall product design methodology. 
  • Support seats department in improving and/or updating documentation, reference library, procedures, lab organization
  • Maintain accurate and up to date project files for work assigned.
  • Learn manufacturing processes.
  • Develop understanding of Bemis's products.

Skills & Qualifications: 

*Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field.

*Familiar with MS Office products (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

*Excellent written & verbal communication skills & the ability to clearly communicate to all levels of the organization. 

*Organized and detail-oriented, able to prioritize tasks and work against deadlines. 

*Strong desire to learn and initiative to try new things.

*Willingness to take manageable risks & make recommendations in the interest of growing a technology.

This position will be for a summer internship.  Virtual interviews will take place in November-December and the internship would start mid-May/early June and end in August.
