What you will do
The Data Scientist (Co-op) is responsible for gaining hands-on experience in data analysis and machine learning techniques under the guidance of a supervisor:
Key Responsibilities
- Develop innovative machine learning models to analyze and interpret complex data sets as a Data Scientist (Co-op)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business solutions
- Utilize advanced statistical techniques to extract insights from data and present findings to key stakeholders
- Contribute to the development and implementation of data-driven strategies to optimize business performance
- Develop and implement data science projects under the guidance of senior team members
- Contribute to the development and improvement of data models and algorithms
- Participate in team meetings and provide updates on project progress
- Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for stakeholders
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in data science
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US and must not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future (e.g. H1-B status)
- Currently pursuing a degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Statistics, or Mathematics
- Strong academic performance with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Basic understanding of data analysis tools and techniques
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Effective communication skills and ability to present findings to non-technical stakeholders
Desired Qualifications
- Strong background in statistics, mathematics, or related field with a focus on data analysis
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
