What you will do

The Data Scientist (Co-op) is responsible for gaining hands-on experience in data analysis and machine learning techniques under the guidance of a supervisor:
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative machine learning models to analyze and interpret complex data sets as a Data Scientist (Co-op)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business solutions
  • Utilize advanced statistical techniques to extract insights from data and present findings to key stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of data-driven strategies to optimize business performance
  • Develop and implement data science projects under the guidance of senior team members
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of data models and algorithms
  • Participate in team meetings and provide updates on project progress
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for stakeholders
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in data science

 

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US and must not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future (e.g. H1-B status)
  • Currently pursuing a degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Statistics, or Mathematics
  • Strong academic performance with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Basic understanding of data analysis tools and techniques
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Effective communication skills and ability to present findings to non-technical stakeholders

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong background in statistics, mathematics, or related field with a focus on data analysis
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
