Germane & Wise Mental Health is looking for a Psychiatric Assistant in Grants Pass OR. Schedule is from Monday to Friday 8 AM to 5 PM. This is a person who works within a primary care practice to help people with mental health concerns get the help they need. The Psychiatric Assistant interviews patients to get complete psychiatric histories using a semi-structured interview. The Psychiatric Assistant facilitates communication between the patient, the Psychiatric Consultant, and the Primary Care Provider, and is a critical team member and point person. The Psychiatric Assistant conducts regular follow up calls with patients, tracks patients, their goals and their treatment, and is available to the clinic to support patients, help doctors, and be the eyes and ears of the Psychiatric Consultant. While you will assist clinical and administrative staff in clinic, you will report directly to the partners of Germane & Wise and be an integrated member of our larger team. Your duties will be primarily focused on your clinic where you are stationed but you will be expected to support other Germane & Wise assistants and goals as needed. This position is located in Grants Pass, Oregon and we have monthly all staff trainings in Corvallis that you will attend virtually from Grants Pass.

Has an interest in Mental Health and assisting people in accurately reporting their mental health concerns.
Has a good ear. Listens for things that could be concerning for someone who is in need of additional help, but is unable to directly ask for such help; recognizes the nuances of situations
Has good communication skills. Can impart information clearly, directly and often between patients, providers and co-workers.
Loves to learn. This position offers many opportunities to learn new skill sets and work closely with mental health professionals.
Leans into their team. Communicates clearly and reaches out when their gut tells them something is up.
Types well and feels confident talking with people on the phone, virtually, and in person.
Experience in a medical office or with electronic medical record systems is always a plus.
Applicant must be an established Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA) OR have the necessary bachelor's degree from an accredited university to pursue this classification (BA in Psychology, Sociology, Human Development, or related fields)
