About The Factory Wire

The Factory Wire is a fast-growing newsletter and media project spotlighting modern manufacturing and business stories. We simplify big ideas into quick, engaging reads for manufacturing business owners and those interested in this dynamic industry.

What You’ll Do

Research and draft 1–2 short articles per week

Summarize news stories in a clear, punchy voice

Conduct virtual interviews with business leaders (we’ll help with outreach at first)

Pitch story ideas and explore new angles

Work with our editor to polish pieces for publication

What We’re Looking For

Journalism/Communications/English student who loves writing

Strong research and storytelling skills

Ability to meet deadlines and write clean copy

Curious about business, entrepreneurship, and manufacturing

Bonus: experience writing for a student paper, blog, or newsletter

Details

Hours: ~10 hrs/week (flexible)

Pay: $18–22/hr

Location: Remote/hybrid (Twin Cities preferred)

Start date: ASAP
