COMPANY SUMMARY:

Utility Technologies International was established in 1992 to provide management, engineering, design, construction, operations, maintenance and training services to the natural gas industry. UTI specializes in providing total solutions in pipeline management and design. Since our inception, we have been dedicated to providing our customers with affordable solutions to their natural gas problems. UTI has a diverse client base, ranging from natural gas gathering, to transmission, to residential distribution, and everywhere in between.  UTI’s engineering group focuses on pipeline and pipeline facility design, drafting, mapping, surveying, modeling, and project management.

POSITION SUMMARY:

UTI is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Surveyor Intern (SI) position, with the potential for Professional Surveyor (PS).  The position will be responsible for performing surveys for Boundary Retracements, ALTA/NSPS Surveys, parcel splits, and for survey field duties associated with UTI design and management projects.  The individual will report to the Survey Manager. The position will largely require independent work with limited oversight.  For most projects the individual will perform survey functions alone, but additional resources will be assigned if/when the project scope or schedule requires it.  When survey work is light or in-between jobs the individual may be asked to assist the engineering department with field studies or CAD work.

Frequent day travel will be required as part of this position.  For larger, long duration projects overnight stay may be necessary. Typical field work will be in Ohio, and occasionally in surrounding states.  The position will primarily operate from home or remotely, with occasional trips to report to UTI’s Operations Center in Groveport, Ohio when supplies are needed.  An office may be maintained at UTI’s Engineering Group office in Columbus, OH.

Membership in Ohio Society of Professional Surveyors (OSPS, fka PLSO) is expected,  as is  attendance to OSPS or similar organization events offering seminars relevant to Surveying.
