Registered Behavior Technician
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- Requires 48 college credits or DOE certification (Paraeducator II)
- Has met all requirements outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) and holds a valid Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification issued by the BACB.
- Previous experience working with children or individuals with behavioral challenges, preferably in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of behavior analysis principles and applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with school staff, parents, and external professionals.
- Current certificate in Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training or equivalent training or willingness to obtain through the District.
Responsibilities of the Position:
- Collaborate with the BCBA, teachers, and other school staff to assess and analyze the behavior of students with identified challenges.
- Implement behavior intervention plans designed by the BCBA to address specific skill acquisition and behavioral goals and objectives.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, reinforcing positive behaviors and teaching alternative, appropriate behaviors.
Specified Length/Hours of Position:
This is an affiliated (AFSCME) position under the Para-Educators negotiated contract, following the school calendar, with six (6) to eight (8) hours per day, 30-40 hours per week.
Starting Salary: $30.90 per hour
