Extended Day Site Coordinator
The Extended Day Site Coordinator reports to the Associate Director of the Extended Day Program and assists in the operation of the district’s before and after school Extended Day Program. The position requires collaboration with school staff, building administrators, and parents to provide a safe and supportive environment for students.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Supervise and manage assigned staff.
• Provide mentorship and coaching to ensure staff growth and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with the Associate Director of the program to support professional development opportunities for the Extended Day team, fostering leadership and organizational development.
• Help facilitate staff meetings and trainings.
• Meet regularly with the Associate Director of the program to receive and convey information.
• Oversee daily program operations, including ordering of supplies.
• Ensure Extended Day staffing positions are filled daily; coordinate with substitutes and fill open positions: act as a site substitute when necessary; organize student and community volunteers.
• Ensure seamless coordination of the student medication process, including training and compliance, in collaboration with the District Health Services Supervisor.
• Collaborate with school staff to ensure student behavior plans are implemented in the Extended Day Program.
• Visit school sites on a weekly basis to ensure programs meet established expectations.
• Assist in implementing policies to maintain high-quality customer service standards.
• Facilitate clear and consistent communication among the Extended Day Program, school staff, and community stakeholders.
• Promote a positive and inclusive organizational culture through employee recognition and team-building activities, as directed by the Associate Director of the program.
• Utilize district systems to respond to inquiries or direct them appropriately.
• Collect data and maintain accurate and up-to-date district, employee, and student information and records.
• Develop systems and procedures to monitor program activities and ensure compliance with financial, legal, and administrative requirements.
• Assist parents and community members in obtaining program-related information.
• Model appropriate behavior for both staff and students.
• Follow LWSD policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Ability to speak fluent English.
• Good written and oral communicational skills.
• Basic knowledge of computers, email and current general software programs.
• Ability to communicate essential information to parents, students and colleagues.
• Good interpersonal skills, with flexibility to work with others as a team player and with a diverse population.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to read and follow instructions and solve practical problems.
• Expected to regularly upgrade skills to meet changing job conditions.
• Ability to follow prescribed guidelines for equipment use and operation.
• Must pass criminal background check.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Four years job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Experience with Word and Excel software programs desired.
