Civil Engineer

Windsor Mill, MD (Hybrid 3 days in the office)

Contract to Hire

Pay Rate - $70,000 - $85,000 (Depending on level of experience)

 

We are seeking a motivated Civil Engineer to join our client in the energy and utilities industry. As a Civil Engineer, you would work on diverse projects supporting critical energy infrastructure and structural design. This role focuses on designing and analyzing a wide range of foundation systems and structural supports essential for utility operations. Hands-on mentorship and training will be provided, along with opportunities to collaborate with other engineering teams across the organization.

 

Qualifications

  • BS in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 0–3 years of engineering experience, preferably in structural/foundation design.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Solid understanding of structural engineering designs, principles, and practices.
  • Proficiency with finite element structural analysis software (STAAD.Pro, RISA 3D, GT Strudl, or equivalent) is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and design steel structural support members and systems
  • Develop and review foundation and structural schematics, drawings, and technical documents.
  • Utilize structural analysis software such as STAAD.Pro, RISA 3D, or GT Strudl for project execution.
  • Create and edit design documents using AutoCAD and Bluebeam.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams and contribute to both independent and team-driven projects.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations using Microsoft Office Suite.
