High School Essay Competition Writing Coach (Remote, Via Zoom)

About the role
Coach high-school students (grades 9–12) for top essay competitions and advanced school writing projects. Remote via Zoom.

Responsibilities

Guide topic selection, outline, drafting, revision, and citations.

Provide clear, actionable feedback after each session.

Typical engagement: ~20–30 hours per student.

Qualifications (one or more of the following)

English or Creative Writing PhD, PhD candidate (2nd year or above/ABD), Postdoc, or Professor.

11th or 12th grade English teacher with a Master’s degree and 5+ years of experience (welcome).

Strong record mentoring analytical/argumentative writing.

Type: Contract / Part-time, Remote (Zoom)

Schedule: Flexible (evenings/weekends possible)

Compensation: $100–$120/hour (all-inclusive; no extra prep hours)
