Administrative Assistant II

Position Summary

Grinnell College is currently seeking an energetic, motivated, and well-organized Administrative Assistant II for the Admissions department. The Administrative Assistant II is a member of the admission operations team and works with the administrative database functions and computer operations to support the Office of Admission. This role will directly support the VP of Enrollment as well as be the lead processor of domestic student application materials. The position will also aid international application processing as needed. In this capacity they will assist prospective students, parents, and school counselors by phone and email as they work through the process of completing an admission application. The Administrative Assistant II reports to the Admission Data & Operations Administrator.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the Vice President of Enrollment with calendar management, travel and expense reports 
  • Provide support for administrative database functions and computer operations.
  • Supports the domestic student application process.
  • Back up to Front Desk Receptionist
  • Cross train and other clerical duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Three years or more relative work experience
  • Commitment to the College’s articulated mission and core values
  • Champions diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Highest level of confidentiality maintained.
  • Strong command of the Microsoft Office suite applications, Teams, and WebEx
  • Detailed oriented and well organized.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skill, including grammar and spelling.

 

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience using judgment and discretion in handling work
  • Proven communicator with the ability to effectively utilize various modes of
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities, frequent interruptions, and exercise independent judgment.
