Administrative Support Branch Manager
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) is seeking a motivated, team-oriented Staff Services Manager II (SSM II) to oversee the Monitoring and Laboratory Division's (MLD) Administrative Support Branch (ASB). The ASB provides consolidated administrative support to the Division. There are two sections within the ASB. The Administrative Section provides direct clerical support for the Division Chief and Assistant Division Chief; and supports the Division in the areas of personnel, budgets, grants, accounting, and acquisitions. The Division Support Section provides support to the Division in the areas of health and safety, facilities and space planning, fleet, asset management, and records management; as well as the MLD stockroom/warehouse operations.
The incumbent will be responsible for planning, directing, and managing subordinate
supervisors and staff conducting day-to-day operations and program support relative to business services, acquisitions, budgets, personnel, health and safety, and other administrative functions. The incumbent will also be responsible for overseeing recruitment, hiring, and training of Branch staff; as well as advise and assist Division management with any administrative and personnel-related issues.

Working Conditions
This position may be eligible for hybrid in-office work and in-state telework. The amount of telework is at the agency's discretion and is based on the California Air Resources Boards' (CARB) current telework policy. While the CARB may support telework, some in-person attendance is also required.
The positions at the CARB may be eligible for telework with in-person attendance based on the operational needs of the position under Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California, subject to the candidate meeting telework eligibility criteria outlined in the CalEPA telework policy and/or future program need. Employees not residing in California are not eligible for telework. Regardless of hybrid telework eligibility, all employees may be required to report to the position’s designated headquarters location at their own expense, as indicated on their duty statement.
