Associate Experience and Development Intern
Lockton is looking for talented students to join our 2026 Summer Associate Program in Kansas City!
An internship at Lockton is so much more than coffee runs. Over nine weeks, you’ll be exposed to different functional areas of the business and solve a real-world challenge facing Lockton and the industry.
Throughout the experience, you’ll be paired with a performance coach or specific team to help guide you through the course of the internship. You’ll also get the opportunity to work with a variety of students from varying schools while being a part of our award-winning office culture.
Professional Summary
The Associate Experience and Development Intern will support initiatives that enhance the employee experience, drive engagement, and contribute to professional development programs across the organization. This role offers hands-on exposure to HR strategy, internal communications, and program coordination within a dynamic and people-focused environment.
Responsibilities will vary based on your placement, but may include:
• Assist in planning and executing associate engagement events and initiatives
• Support the development and delivery of onboarding and training materials
• Help manage internal communications related to engagement and development programs
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support culture-building efforts
• Maintain documentation and track progress of development programs
• Participate in meetings and contribute ideas to improve associate experience
• Working with a team of fellow interns to solve real-world business challenges
• Presenting in-person and virtually to internal clients and other Lockton Associates
• Actively participating in training and personal development sessions

Qualifications
• Student studying Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Communications, or a related field
• Passion for creating positive workplace experiences and supporting employee growth
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities
• College student entering their senior year
• Able to commit to working the nine-week internship in Kansas City (housing provided for students who are not local)
• Proven success in both academics and extracurricular activities, especially in leadership positions
• Minimum 3.3 GPA (potential to substitute experience in lieu of GPA)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Ability to efficiently organize work and manage time in order to meet deadlines
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced and professional environment
• Flexibility to easily adapt to changing priorities
• Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures, proactively protecting confidentiality of client and company information
• Legally able to work in the United States
