Mental Health Therapist
Conduct Assessments: Perform initial consultations and mental health assessments to understand clients' needs and diagnose mental health conditions.
Develop Treatment Plans: Create and implement personalized treatment plans tailored to each client's unique circumstances and needs.
Provide Therapy: Facilitate individual, group, or family therapy sessions using various therapeutic techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and others.
Monitor Progress: Regularly document and evaluate clients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure effective care.
Collaborate with Professionals: Work alongside other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.
Educate Clients and Families: Provide information and support to clients and their families about mental health conditions and coping strategies.
Qualifications and Skills
Education: A master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field is typically required. In addition working with Counselors in Training (CT) Supervision provided for both LPC and CT's
Licensing: Must be licensed as an LPC or studying as a CT to practice in the relevant state or region, which often requires supervised clinical experience.
Skills: Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills are essential. Therapists should also be knowledgeable about various therapeutic techniques and mental health disorders.
Work Environment
Private practice setting with an office provided as well as telehealth clients. The role may require flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, to accommodate clients' schedules.
