WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Host position is responsible for being the guests’ first point of contact at Le Moyne’s Chophouse. The main duties of the Host are to ensure the guest receives a perfect first impression and that the Le Moyne’s Chophouse team is set up to go above and beyond for the guest.

While no job description can possibly provide a comprehensive list of job duties, the following is a summary of the major responsibilities for the position.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Welcome guests to the restaurant in a warm and friendly manner.

Ascertain guests’ dining needs, including reservations, dietary restrictions, special requests, etc.

Manage the seating chart and seat guests accordingly

Monitor restaurant activity to determine seating and dining flow

Answer phone calls, effectively communicating restaurant hours, availability, and policies

Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner

Perform opening and closing duties as needed

Assist with side work including, but not limited to: cleaning, stocking, folding silverware, etc.

Maintain regular and punctual on-site attendance with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when business requires

All other duties as assigned by the Restaurant Manager or any other member of management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

No supervision required.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required. Education:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience:

Previous experience in and knowledge of restaurant operations and industry standards is a plus.

Familiarity with reservation systems and basic computer skills is a plus.

Prior guest relations training

Skills:

A polite, engaging, and professional personality

Commitment to guest satisfaction and service excellence

Must be able to speak English to communicate with guests. Must be able to recognize situations which may involve guests that require immediate supervisory attention. Must know and use reasonable care for the safety and security of the guests.

Ability to learn and perform all essential job functions accurately and safely with minimal supervision.

Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with minimum supervision

Strong written/verbal communication skills

Positive, upbeat attitude/personality

Physical & Mental Requirements:

Must be 18 years of age

Ability to bend, kneel, squat

Ability to stand, walk, talk, and hear for long periods.

Frequently required to use hands and arms to reach and handle. Frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.

Ensure various physical movements throughout the work areas, such as reaching, extending arms over head, bending and stooping are performed safely

Ability to push and pull, lift and carry up to 30lbs

Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guests, co-workers and management to their understanding

Work Environment:

Le Moyne’s is a sixty seat dinner-only restaurant with a bar. Will occasionally work in other areas of the property including other restaurant/banquet outlets, storage areas, kitchens, and guest areas.
