At Grace Christian, we believe children are not just the future of the church; they are the heartbeat of the church today. Because of this belief, we are looking for someone who delights in kids, loves God deeply, and is energized by the joy of ministry. Someone who knows every child is a gift—including kids who experience the world in unique ways—and who wants to help all children discover how deeply loved they are.

If you’re passionate about creating spaces where kids can belong, believe, and become more like Christ, we’d love to talk with you.

What You’ll Get to Do

  • Lead and develop ministry programs: guide Sunday mornings, midweek gatherings, summer activities, and special events with creativity and joy.
  • Foster inclusion: build safe, welcoming environments where all children can participate fully, no matter their gifts, abilities, or needs.
  • Nurture faith formation: introduce kids to the stories of scripture, practices of prayer, and rhythms of worship in ways that are playful and meaningful.
  • Help to equip and support volunteers: with the help of church staff, recruit, train, and encourage volunteers so they feel confident and joyful in sharing faith with kids.
  • Partner with families: encourage and resource parents and caregivers as they nurture faith at home.
  • Collaborate with staff and leadership: work with pastors and ministry teams to integrate kids into the whole life of the church.
  • Know you are not alone: lean into the supervision and genuine support of experienced program ministers.

What We’re Looking For

  • A vibrant love for God and children.
  • Energy, creativity, and enthusiasm for ministry.
  • Experience (or eagerness to grow) in supporting neurodivergent children and kids with unique needs.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • A collaborative spirit that inspires volunteers and families alike.

Qualifications

  • Experience in children’s ministry, education, or a related field preferred.
  • Training in child development, education, or special education is a plus.
  • Commitment to personal and professional growth.

Hours and Compensation

This position is a half-time, salaried position. Grace Christian is willing to work through scheduling conflicts, like work or school, for the well suited candidate.
