Job Summary
The position will support the Chief Physician Executive for Augusta Health. In this role, the EA often serves as the professional first contact with physicians, clinical teams, department leaders, community partners and others who are working with the chief physician executive on important priorities for the health system and our community. The chief physician’s office has many collaborating partners: executive and key leadership teams, medical staff, physician practices, quality and safety programs, population health and the accountable care organization, graduate medical education, other health systems in Virginia, and many community partners. The EA is responsible for maintaining the office’s high standards for professionalism, our commitment to prompt responses to all inquiries, and our value of service to the organization and community. The EA facilitates communications with stakeholders, schedules appointments, prioritizes the calendar with the executive each day, and facilitates in-person and virtual meetings. The EA will implement systems of organization to reliably process and track invoices, to maintain a structured filing system for important documents related to many projects and priorities, and to plan ahead for recurring committees and project deliverables. Key traits for success in this include a high attention to detail, an enjoyment of collaboration across teams, and flexibility in problem solving as each day presents unique questions and concerns to be managed by the office.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (e.g. Business Administration, Nonprofit Management) preferred
Experience Desired
- Two to three years of experience serving as a program administrator/coordinator or executive assistant preferred
Skill Requirements
- Will have exemplary organizational skills, exhibit professional demeanor with team members, board members, physicians, team members, constituents, donors, and the public.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and maintain the confidentiality of donors and patients.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Excellent interpersonal, problem solving and decision-making skills
- The Executive Assistant will be privy to confidential information about board members, donors, team members, patients, business and community leaders. This information must be held in strict confidence to maintain trust and legal obligations.
- Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, be highly organized and self-directed.
- Must be able to work independently and cooperatively with peers and those in authority.
