Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Tubular Products Decatur is seeking a strong leader and self-motivated Electrical Engineer. The successful candidate will provide hands-on support of NTP teammates, with a focus on process control and automation, in the reliability and continued improvement of our production equipment. In addition to supporting our production, the electrical engineer will be responsible for leading projects with internal teammates and external contractors, this includes planning, quoting, contracting, and delivering project completion on time and within budget. This role will also aid in the development of our technical teammates through mentorship and knowledge transfer as well as, trouble shooting for process improvement, and other duties as assigned.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Ability to understand and interpret detailed drawings of machinery and buildings
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends, holidays, scheduled and unscheduled overtime.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with tube mills.
  • Prior experience with parts conveyor design.
  • Prior experience in heavy equipment or manufacturing.
  • Process improvement background using statistical analysis.
  • Equipment upgrade, installation, and commissioning experience.
  • Prior leadership experience and contractor management.
