Food Process & Operations Coordinator

We’re seeking a reliable, hands-on Food Process & Operations Coordinator to support small-scale production, product testing, and process documentation. This role is ideal for someone with a foundation in food science or food engineering who thrives in a startup environment — resourceful, organized, and eager to grow into operations leadership.

 

Key Responsibilities

Execute small-batch food manufacturing and packaging according to established SOPs

  • Document production data, batch yields, and quality observations
  • Coordinate ingredient and packaging inventory; manage vendor communication and purchasing
  • Support product development trials under the direction of the product development advisor
  • Maintain cleanliness, compliance, and quality standards (GMP/HACCP)
  • Assist with scale-up planning and process optimization
  • Support fulfillment of research and clinical partner orders

Contribute to efficiency improvements and automation readiness

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science & TechnologyFood Engineering, or a related field
  • 1–3 years’ experience in food production, pilot plant, or process development
  • Demonstrated reliability and ability to follow structured processes
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills
  • Comfortable operating mixers, dryers, and other small-scale food equipment
  • Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs and working on your feet during production
  • Calm under pressure; adaptable in a startup setting

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with medical nutrition or cpg
  • Familiarity with sensory evaluation and quality systems
  • Interest in process automation and scaling production
