UI/UX Software Designer(Figma) – Settlyfe (Internship / Entry-Level)
Location: San Diego, CA (Hybrid/Remote options available)
Employment Type: Internship / Part-Time / Entry-Level
About Us
Settlyfe is building an AI-powered end-to-end rental ecosystem that connects renters, landlords, agents, and service providers. Our mission is to simplify the housing journey—from search, to lease, to move-in, to ongoing services—into a seamless and trusted digital experience.
We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented UI/UX Designer who is passionate about designing intuitive interfaces, improving user journeys, and shaping the next generation of housing technology.
What You’ll Do
As a UI/UX Designer, you will work closely with our product and engineering teams to design and refine user experiences across our renter, landlord, agent, and service provider platforms. Your responsibilities will include:
User Research & Discovery
Conduct user interviews, surveys, and usability testing to understand user needs.
Translate research insights into wireframes, workflows, and prototypes.
UI/UX Design
Design user-friendly, modern interfaces for web and mobile platforms.
Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups using Figma (or similar tools).
Ensure designs are consistent with Settlyfe’s brand identity and design system.
Collaboration & Iteration
Partner with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to translate ideas into interactive designs.
Iterate designs based on feedback and testing results.
Contribute to the development of our design system and style guidelines.
Innovation & Problem Solving
Explore creative solutions to simplify complex workflows (e.g., rental applications, e-sign, payments, and service scheduling).
Advocate for user needs while balancing business goals.
What We’re Looking For
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Computer Science, or related field.
Strong portfolio showcasing UI/UX projects (class projects, personal projects, internships).
Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or InVision.
Basic understanding of front-end frameworks (React, HTML/CSS) is a plus but not required.
Strong visual design skills, attention to detail, and understanding of typography, layout, and accessibility.
Excellent communication skills and ability to present design ideas clearly.
Passion for startups, real estate, or housing technology is a bonus.
What You’ll Gain
Hands-on experience designing for a fast-growing tech startup.
Opportunity to see your designs implemented and used by real customers.
Mentorship from founders and exposure to product development, AI integration, and startup operations.
A chance to shape the future of digital housing solutions.
Compensation & Duration
Internship / Entry-Level role (Unpaid or Stipend / Course Credit depending on program requirements; opportunities for paid continuation).
Flexible schedule to accommodate classes.
