Corporate Development and Research Associate
THE JOB
We are looking for a Corporate Development & Research Associate to join the CFO’s office. This role is a hybrid of finance, legal, and business development responsibilities — perfect for someone who thrives at the intersection of research, strategy, and deal execution. You’ll support the CFO with industry analysis, company research, financial modeling, legal due diligence, and partnership development, helping drive high-impact strategic initiatives and corporate growth.
THE DAY-TO-DAY
- Conduct industry and competitor research, including market trends, financial benchmarks, and regulatory updates.
- Build financial models and evaluate business cases for potential partnerships, investments, or acquisitions.
- Assist with legal and compliance research, supporting contract reviews, due diligence, and corporate structuring projects.
- Prepare investment memos, board materials, and business proposals for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support business development initiatives — from identifying targets and outreach to partnership discussions and deal execution.
- Coordinate with external advisors (law firms, accounting firms, bankers) and internal teams (Finance, Legal, Operations).
- Track and report on ongoing projects, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
- A strong analytical thinker with attention to detail and the ability to distill complex financial and legal information.
- Comfortable navigating financial data, legal documents, and strategic discussions.
- Naturally curious and resourceful — you enjoy digging deep into research but can also move projects forward in a business context.
- Confident communicator who can support the CFO in high-level meetings and negotiations.
- Proactive, adaptable, and eager to grow within a dynamic corporate environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Law, Accounting, or Business.
- 1–3 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, corporate development, private equity/venture capital, or corporate strategy.
- Familiarity with basic legal concepts (contracts, compliance, corporate structures) — a law degree is not required but preferred.
- Strong skills in Excel (financial modeling), PowerPoint (presentations), and research tools.
- Excellent written and spoken English; ability to draft research notes, proposals, and memos.
- Experience working cross-functionally with both finance and legal stakeholders is a plus.
