This is a night shift position that requires 8-10 or 12 hour shifts and weekends as needed.

Position Description: 

The Quality Assurance Technician is a vital part of the Quality Department and company. They are responsible for reviewing batch production records ensuring products in both the production and packaging areas are produced within required specifications. They are also responsible to ensure that batch records are being closed out in a timely fashion. They report the status of finished product release to upper management. They chase down and overcome roadblocks in closing batch records and reviewing batch records so the quality team can release finished products. The Quality Assurance Technician will work with strategic customers in providing essential controlled documents to customers in order for customers to approve the release of finished products. The Quality Assurance Technician also helps to ensure that all company policies and procedure are being followed. This position requires three to five years experience in quality in the dietary supplement space. 

 

Essential responsibilities: 

• Ensuring product specifications are met and ensuring the companies policies and procedures are followed and adhered to. 

• Extreme attention to detail

• Batch Record Review 

• Certificate of Analysis Review 

• Project management 

• Ability to clearly report facts and figures to upper management

• Production of products meets company’s stringent quality standards from start to finish. 

• Liaise with production and customer service departments to ensure that projects are initiated, executed, and completed according to federal regulations. 

• Activities will include point step process review. 

• Materials review. 

• Understanding of cGMPs and FDA regulations for Dietary Supplements 

• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

Additional Responsibilities: 

• Adhere strictly to company policies and procedures.

 

Education Requirements: 

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to five years experience in quality in the dietary supplement space. 

 

Competencies/skill Qualifications: 

• Knowledge of GMPs and experience with nutraceuticals. 

• Must demonstrate exceptional written and communication skills. 

• Ability to follow instructions / directions. 

• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. 

• Attention to details. 

• Ability to prioritize and complete assigned tasks effectively and efficiently. 

• Able to make decisions based on company guidelines. Exceptional organizational, multi tasking and time-management skills are required. 

• Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment and maintain effectiveness during times of major changes in responsibilities. 

• Demonstrate integrity and willingness to take personal responsibility for performance. 

• Knowledge of Dietary Supplement GMPs. 

• Experience in dietary supplement industry. 

• Auditing experience preferred but not required. 

• Experience enforcing SOP and product specifications. 

• Proficiency with all MS Office Suite programs – excel experience required. 

• Strong mathematics skills required. 

• English proficiency required.

 

Physical Requirements: 

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use of hands and fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; converse and listen; taste or smell. 

• Employee must exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. 

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. 

• May be exposed to a dusty environment and/or considerable noise.
