Salary: $42,000 - $90,000 (Salary negotiable based on experience and skills: to include a company assigned vehicle with insurance and fuel provided)
Hours: M-F 8:00 am - 4:00pm, and two Wednesdays per month from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm (Position may include shift work: to include nights, weekends, holidays, and on call)

Role and Responsibilities:
- Properly install and repair vehicle specific emergency lights and equipment
- Performance of routine automotive maintenance and repair work in the upkeep of all LCSO Vehicles
- Keeping records relative to repairs performed, preventative maintenance schedules, parts in inventory, and supplies to be requisitioned
- Supervising and directing inmate workers assigned to work with him/her
- Give roadside assistance (make service calls and emergency field repairs) in a timely manner and in accordance with agency policies and procedures
- Properly install items such as fire extinguishers, hat racks, gun racks, first aid kits, decals and other emergency equipment
- Properly install approved items in agency vehicles, both marked and unmarked, in accordance with manufacturer specifications and in the designated/approved locations to ensure proper accessibility/visibility as required
- Must prepare for, conduct, and attend specialized training, conferences and workshops
- Work remotely and independently operating a mobile repair van, including the performance of oil changes, tire service, and other basic repair services in an outdoor setting
Physical Demands:
- Some lifting (less than 50 lbs.), bend/squat, walk, see, hear, speak, manual dexterity, ambulate independently, stand for long periods
Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Must be 18 years old, or older
- Must have obtained a high school diploma or GED
- Must be a US Citizen or possess a current permanent resident card
- Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License or state issued ID card
- Must possess a Social Security Card
- Must not have been convicted of a felony
- Must not have used illegal drugs in the last 12 months
- Must not have received a dishonorable discharge from the United States Armed Forces
- Ability to speak and write English clearly and accurately
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of vehicle specific emergency lighting install and repairs
- Extensive familiarization with tire changer, wheel balancer, air guns, vehicle lifts, floor jacks, diagnostic scanners, a/c and brake certification
- Knowledge of the use of tools and equipment associated with automotive maintenance and repair
- Knowledge of the design and repair of automotive engines including electrical systems and brakes
- Must be able to read and understand automotive manuals and guides
- Must be able to correctly identify, repair, replace and troubleshoot malfunctioning parts
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Must be able to safely operate large vehicles, including high top large vans
- ASE Certification or equivalent trade school knowledge
