Startup - Director of Sales

We are looking for a driven, entrepreneurial Director of Sales to head sales at EQORE. As our first dedicated sales hire, you will play a critical role in shaping our go-to-market strategy, building relationships with commercial and industrial customers, and closing deals that bring energy storage onto the grid.

This is a unique opportunity to step into a high-impact role where you will:

  • Lead new customer acquisition from prospecting to closed contract.
  • Define and refine sales channels, identifying new approaches to market penetration.
  • Collaborate directly with the founding team to design our go-to-market motion and messaging.
  • Develop repeatable processes that will allow EQORE to scale sales efforts rapidly.

We’re looking for someone who thrives in ambiguity, is both a strategist and a doer, and is motivated by the chance to accelerate the transition to clean energy.

You will:

  • Own the full sales cycle: prospect, pitch, negotiate, and close accounts with commercial and industrial customers.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified leads through outbound efforts and partnerships.
  • Identify new sales channels, verticals, and market approaches for EQORE’s energy storage solutions.
  • Work closely with the leadership team on product pricing, deal structuring, and proposals.
  • Represent EQORE at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings.
  • Create collateral such as presentations, case studies, and ROI analyses to support customer decision-making.
  • Gather customer feedback and market intelligence to inform product development and strategy.

Requirements

  • Experience in B2B sales, business development, or account management (energy, technology, or industrial sectors preferred).
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quotas in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Comfort selling complex solutions with long sales cycles and multiple stakeholders.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: ability to operate independently, wear multiple hats, and build processes from scratch.

Further desirable qualifications include:

  • Experience with commercial/industrial energy, energy storage, or energy markets.
  • Prior work at an early-stage startup or scaling company.
  • Familiarity with project finance, ROI modeling, or SaaS-like recurring revenue sales.
  • Existing network in commercial/industrial facilities, utilities, or energy developers.
