Software Engineer – Machine Learning/AI Engineer
Location: Chula Vista, CA (3 days onsite)
Duration: 3-Month Contract to Hire

About the Role
We are seeking a Software Engineer – Machine Learning/AI Engineer with 2–5 years of hands-on experience. This role is ideal for engineers with a passion for developing AI-driven solutions in industrial automation and robotics. Candidates with more than 6 years of experience will not be considered for this role.
You will contribute to building intelligent automation systems supporting industries like robotics, industrial control, aerospace, defense, and medical devices. This is a contract-to-hire role, giving the opportunity to convert into a full-time position.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement machine learning models for robotics and industrial automation systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate AI algorithms into embedded and hardware systems.
Work on solutions for industrial robotics, appliances, semiconductor equipment, aerospace, and defense applications.
Optimize ML pipelines for performance, scalability, and reliability.
Conduct testing, validation, and deployment into real-time industrial environments.
Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement processes.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field.
2–5 years of experience in software engineering with a focus on machine learning or AI.
Strong experience with Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar frameworks.
Proficiency in algorithms, data structures, and applied ML techniques.
Hands-on experience with embedded devices, robotics systems, or industrial automation software.
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Nice to Have
Exposure to domains such as medical devices, semiconductor, aerospace, defense, or industrial control systems.
Experience with real-time systems or edge-computing environments.
Familiarity with robotic vision, sensor fusion, or control algorithms.
