Position Title: Klump Center Marketing Intern

 

Description: 

Job Summary:

In collaboration with CU Leeds Marketing team, this position manages communication efforts for the Michael A. Klump Center for Real Estate (KLUMP CENTER) team, focusing on marketing and communications for Center activities through supporting in the creation of content for various mediums, including but not limited to newsletters, emails,brochures, and presentations while leading Center social media and web content curation and publication efforts. Through this communication, the Center looks to grow its thought leadership in commercial real estate, steward donors, and ensure real estate students are informed about KLUMP CENTER’s activities and programs.

 

Who we are:

The Klump Center for Real Estate sits within the Leeds School of Business and exists to deepen students’ knowledge of commercial real estate outside the classroom through experiential learning and interaction with commercial real estate professionals and CU real estate alumni. Through real estate treks, case competitions, industry panels and events, and interaction with leaders from the commercial real estate industry, the KLUMP CENTER aims to expand students’ learning and professional networks.

 

What your key responsibilities will be: 

Communications/Marketing (65%)

  • Working in partnership with the Leeds Marketing department, implement the Klump Center’s  Annual Communications Plan; draft email communications, bi-weekly student emails, emails to industry and alumni, brochures, presentations, and web content; offer suggestions for new opportunities for content that would positively impact KLUMP CENTER stakeholders.
  • Write and publish blog articles for the Klump Center website and social media
  • Write, manage and distribute the KLUMP CENTER quarterly newsletter and support content development for the Annual Report.
  • Support KLUMP CENTER’s events and activities by writing announcements for KLUMP CENTER activities, to be distributed via email, social media, events calendars and the center website.
  • Write student, alumni, and board member profiles, highlight their career and industry success.
  • Work collaboratively with faculty, staff and outside vendors.
  • Analyze content marketing metrics and make changes as needed.
  • Attend weekly Klump Center for Real Estate staff meetings

 

Social Media (15%)

  • Manage the Klump Center’s LinkedIn page, create posts and interact with LinkedIn community
  • Collaboratively with Center staff and Leeds Marketing, create and implement a social media calendar to manage Klump Center for Real Estate presence on social media, creating a rhythm of regular social media content

 

Website management (15%)

  • Update and manage content of Klump Center for Real Estate
  • Look for opportunities to continually enhance and improve KLUMP CENTER website pages

 

Assist with Center programs (5%)

  • Create powerpoint slides for Center board meetings and events
  • Support day-of event logistics 3-4 times per semester, depending upon availability
  • Other tasks as assigned; depending on skillsets of student, they might also do graphic design work to promote Center activities

Qualifications:
What we require:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Internet navigation tools.
  • Social media experience
  • Writing and content creation experience

 

What you will need:

  • Strong and demonstrated ability to write and edit compelling, clear, and accurate content to diverse audiences for general publication.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities.
  • Basic understanding of marketing.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing tactics, including SEO, email marketing and web analytics.
  • The ability to consistently meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to appreciate and assimilate constructive criticism.

 

What we’d like you to have:

  • Email, social media, or content marketing experience (student groups, volunteering, etc.).
  • Experience using Marketing Cloud, Salesforce and website editing.
  • Preference for Leeds undergraduate or graduate student studying real estate, but we welcome applications from all majors.
  • Prior experience researching content and generating ideas through interviews, online searches, and other information gathering mechanisms.

 

Modality

It is expected that this position is a hybrid position; attend weekly in person Klump Center staff meetings

 

Hours

This position is a part time, 5-10 hour/week position. 

 

Dates

Commitment for this position is for the fall 2025 and spring 2026 semesters, with the possibility of virtual work during the summer and possible extension of the position into the next academic year, 2026-2027 if desired by both the student and Klump Center.
