Title: Community Engagement Intern
Vision
As a sign of the presence of the Kingdom of God, Word Made Flesh Bolivia seeks to awaken hope and foster holistic transformation by serving women survivors of sexual exploitation and their families. Through partnerships with local organizations, WMF Bolivia creates safe spaces, supports comprehensive programs, and connects interns and volunteers to contribute directly to empowering vulnerable women to rebuild their lives.
Internship Summary and Responsibilities
- Support local leadership programs, assisting church and organizational leaders in training and mentorship initiatives.
- Document program activities, including stories, photos, and updates, for WMF communications and reporting purposes.
- Build relationships with women and families in the community, fostering trust and understanding of local needs.
- Participate in daily community rhythms of prayer, meals, and reflection.
- Observe and learn from local leaders and WMF staff to understand trauma-informed, survivor-centered care practices.
Qualifications and Experience
- Currently studying for or graduated with a degree in social work, education, international development, business, or related field.
- Motivated and responsible individual able to work independently, take initiative, and meet deadlines.
- Commitment to building relationships with and investing in the WMF Bolivia staff community.
- Experience working with women, children, or vulnerable populations preferred.
Community Involvement
Interns will spend approx. 20 hrs a week on:
- Community prayer
- Formation reading and discussion
- Language acquisition
- Intentional interaction and service among the vulnerable
Worksite Location: El Alto, Bolivia

- Support-Based: Interns raise financial support to cover salary and expenses.
- Preparation and Support: Pre-departure formation with a Short-Term Program Coordinator and appointed to a local staff member; weekly language tutoring to equip interns for responsibilities
