Senior Energy Pricing and Policy Analyst - JC-494037

Energy Division /Electric Rates, Customer Generation and Demand Response Branch/Electric Rates Section:

Under the general direction of the section Program and Project Supervisor (PPS), the incumbent will have lead responsibility in conducting complex economic, policy and/or technical analyses and research to support Administrative Law Judges (ALJ), Commissioners, and Advisors. Specifically, the incumbent will lead analytical projects designing and implementing new tariffs, data collection efforts and reporting to promote electrification, decarbonization and customer equity.

A permanent Senior Public Utilities Regulatory Analyst (PURA V—Electric Rates) will be responsible for leading the analytical, project management, and advisory responsibilities for shaping advanced rate designs through rulemaking and ratemaking proceedings including the ongoing oversight and program management responsibilities for the implementation of new tariffs and programs for residential and non-residential classes. Further, this PURA V position will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of pricing strategies, data collection efforts and innovative evaluation tools that promote affordability, electrification, decarbonization and grid efficiency and reliability.  In addition to working closely with the assigned Administrative Law Judge and assigned Commissioner’s office, the PURA V will be responsible for interagency communication and coordination.
