Assistant Restaurant Manager Internship

Primary Responsibilities:
 

·         Be highly passionate for Food & Wine and have a commitment to create the ultimate dining experience
 

·         Consistently manages the restaurant to a definitive Five Star level or beyond
 

·         Be an innovator who understands pushing the food and service envelopes
 

·         Ensures the Brand DNA is utilized in all areas of decision making and procedures
 

·         Facilitates an environment of teamwork and communication with all departments within the resort
 

·         Collaborates with the Sous Chef to maintain extensive food knowledge of all staff
 

·         Collaborates with the Beverage Dept / Sommelier to maintain extensive beverage knowledge of all staff
 

·         Maintains a daily discipline of inspecting service consistency and behaviors to the desired standard
 

·         Utilizes a guest first approach towards setting operational objectives
 

Secondary Responsibilities:
 

·         Completes administrative duties including payroll, scheduling, daily correspondence
 

·         Effectively responds to guest and staff needs
 

·         Works with Restaurant Manager to assess the financial budgets and move toward exceeding as such.
 

·         Assist in the Training of supervisors and Host/Hostess.
 

Normal Working Hours:
 

·         8 to 12 hours per day, weekends, holidays, and nights

Past Work Experience Requirements:
 

·         Two years assistant manager of a four- or five-star restaurant or equivalent College Courses with proven leadership qualities
 

·         Wine, Spirits, and Beer related experience preferred
 

Educational Requirements:
 

·         Must be enrolled in or a recent graduate of a 2- or 4-year college program, preferably in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field.
 

·         Sommelier certification preferred
 

Communication Skills Requirements:
 

·         Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
 

·         Proper pronunciation of Food and Beverage offerings and preparations
 

·         Excellent public speaking skills
 

Technical Requirements:             
 

·         Point of Sale Terminal experience
 

·         Payroll software experience
 

·         Reservation Software experience
 

·         Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
 

Required Supervision:
 

·         Reports to Restaurant Manager
 

Other Requirements:
 

·         Consistent demonstration of the Ten Essential Attributes
