Public Affairs Associate

We are seeking an entry-level Public Affairs Associate to join our team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional with strong writing, research, and communication skills who is passionate about public policy and civic engagement.


 

You will support Concordia Group’s policy, advocacy, and communications efforts by conducting research, drafting materials, monitoring legislation, engaging with stakeholders, and assisting with client projects. This is a great opportunity to learn the foundations of public affairs work and build a career in the field.


 


 

Key Responsibilities


 


 

  • Monitor Iowa legislative and regulatory developments as well as federal legislation and regulations, prepare summaries, and track issues relevant to clients
  • Conduct background research on policy topics, elected officials, federal agencies, and stakeholder groups
  • Draft written materials, including briefs, talking points, presentations, and social media content
  • Provide event support (e.g., client meetings, legislative hearings, public forums)
  • Assist with client support, including scheduling and staffing meetings and events
  • Assist with client communication, scheduling, and reporting
  • Contribute to team strategy sessions and project planning
