Position Description
The Center for Public Justice (CPJ) is seeking a Director of Global Health & Civic Engagement to lead the design and implementation of a national initiative that advances public understanding of U.S. global health and development priorities. Through strategically coordinated convenings, institutional partnerships, regional communications efforts, and advocacy training, the Director will equip emerging civic leaders to elevate values-based narratives that reflect the dignity and well-being of families and communities around the world.
Reporting to the Director of Faith-Based Policy and Research, the Director of Global Health & Civic Engagement will collaborate closely with CPJ program staff, communications partners, and local academic and civic leaders to ensure coordinated execution of all program components. This position will manage subcontractors and external experts, oversee program-related budgets, and monitor and evaluate the impact of project activities.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead implementation of CPJ’s national global health civic engagement initiative in alignment with project objectives and timeline;
- Develop annual work plans, manage program budgets, and oversee internal and external resources (consultants, expert presenters, subcontractors);
- Coordinate a campus-based convening series and community-based events, including partner engagement, logistics, speaker coordination, and post-event follow-up;
- Build and steward institutional partnerships with academic and civic organizations to advance values-based narratives on foreign aid and global health;
- Design and oversee advocacy training curricula grounded in CPJ’s public justice framework and tailored to regional context and needs;
- Work with CPJ’s communications team to develop communications toolkits, support regional media placements, and amplify participant stories;
- Provide on-going coaching and support to program participants to deepen and extend their engagement;
- Track and evaluate program outcomes related to participant knowledge, public engagement activities, and institutional partnerships, and support internal and external reporting;
- Coordinate contributions from CPJ Fellows and other subject-matter experts to ensure an effective blend of thought leadership and practical skills-building;
- Ensure alignment of project activities with CPJ’s broader education, communications, and development strategies.
Qualifications
- Personal, active, and demonstrable commitment to Christ, CPJ’s mission, and the Standards of Faith and Conduct;
- Demonstrated understanding of the Reformed theological tradition, with a particular emphasis on the concept of public justice;
- Master’s degree (MPP, MPA, MA in International Affairs, or related field) required;
- 5–7+ years of progressively responsible experience in program management, policy engagement, civic education, or higher education partnerships (experience in global health or foreign aid strongly preferred);
- Demonstrated ability to manage and execute complex convenings involving multiple partners in diverse regional contexts;
- Strong relationship-building experience with academic institutions, churches, and civic partners;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to coach and support external stakeholders;
- Detail–oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet time-sensitive deadlines;
- Experience supporting public engagement efforts, message amplification, or media placement;
- Demonstrated aptitude for measuring and evaluating programmatic impact;
- Ability to travel to in-person convenings and events across the United States, including up to 4–5 weekend events over the course of the project;
- Adaptability to evolving or expanding responsibilities over time.
Salary and Benefits
The annual salary range for this position is $78,300 – $87,000, depending on experience and skill. CPJ offers a generous benefits package which includes: 100% paid medical, dental, vision, short- and long-term disability insurance premiums for the employee and dependent children, Employee Assistance Program, 16 paid holidays, paid discretionary leave, paid family medical leave and a flat/non-matching employer contribution to a 403(b) retirement plan of 3% of the annual salary. This position is hybrid-eligible, with up to two weekly telework days (Mondays and Fridays). CPJ has daily core hours from 10am – 3pm Eastern, other daily hours may be worked in accordance with CPJ’s flex work policy..
