This role will report to the Co-Chief Investment Officer(s), Director of Portfolio Strategy & Research, or their designee.

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM OBJECTIVE

The goal of the Summer Analyst, Asset Management position at The Coury Firm is to provide an opportunity for real world application of financial concepts and investment strategies learned in the academic environment. This internship program seeks to equip interns with the knowledge and experience they need to be successful.  Classroom instruction combined with shadowing mentors allows interns to make the connection between theory and practice.  

The Coury Firm honors the internship experience as an opportunity to provide mentorship. Our leadership is highly invested in the program, and interns get the chance for one-on-one interaction with our CEO, Portfolio Manager, and other Wealth Advisory teams.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summer Analyst, Asset Management will work collaboratively with the Asset Management team supporting a variety of projects including but not limited to due-diligence, manager communications, investment product research, assistance in administering and delivering 401K scoring models and other various client fulfillment options. 

Primary responsibilities of the Summer Analyst, Asset Management will include:

  • Supporting the Asset Management team members in the execution of their duties
  • Contribute to the portfolio construction process and investment committee meeting preparation
  • Assist in construction of the model portfolio menu, portfolio fulfillment options, manager fact cards, model portfolio interface, etc.
  • Assist with the production of research reports and thought leadership pieces, including quarterly & annual investment outlooks
  • Assist with macro-economic research and key macro slides and charts
  • Regular monitoring of economic and market events and their portfolio impact
  • Contribute to product research and development, including stock strategy research, futures hedging / overlay strategies, quantitative strategies, etc.
  • Communicate with fund managers and key investment counterparties on matters related to due diligence, product development, and operational matters relevant to investment strategy and implementation
  • Assist with client management and support, including transition sheets, client portfolio / holdings analysis, client presentation support etc.
  • Support private investment reporting for client portfolios
  • Ad hoc industry, company, & investment research projects
  • Administer and deliver the weekly market monitor model & commentary
  • Assist with respective client material preparation & portfolio analysis
  • Assist in working with client reporting technologies with regards to asset class coding, model portfolio coding, IPS frameworks, private investment reporting, etc.
  • Coordinate and assist Private Wealth team in administering and implementing investment recommendations as necessary
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

To qualify for application/consideration, candidates must be:

  • 2nd or 3rd year undergraduate candidate in a finance or business track program or current graduate student pursuing an MBA 
  • Open to all academic degrees; preferred background in Finance, Business, Economics or related field
  • Good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.3
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent work ethic, desire for continual improvement, and strong intellectual curiosity
