City Impact Summer Intern
CITY IMPACT SUMMER INTERN
All City Impact Summer Interns will spend their time serving across three non-profits in the Argentine Neighborhood: Youthfront Neighborhood, The Hub Argentine, & Immanuel Community Outreach Association. You will be assigned your main job focus from the list below but will also serve in different capacities throughout the summer. It is almost guaranteed that you’ll serve at the Community Market at The Hub or the food ministry at Immanuel as well as assist each organization with their most pressing needs.
Construction & maintenance: Construction and Maintenance-focused interns help in the neighborhood in a variety of ways. One day you may be helping a neighbor with yard maintenance and city code citations and another day facilitating a group of volunteers doing different service projects. If you are handy and like to fix things or learn how this is the job for you! You will also have the opportunity to interact with neighbors and serve in other capacities as well.
Children & Youth: If you have a passion for youth and children this is the spot for you! Children and youth focused interns will spend the majority of their time working with elementary students &/or MS/HS students to run summer neighborhood programs. Neighborhood elementary students participate in a day camp and interns will help plan activities and outings for the Day Camp program. MS/HS students participate in a Youth Social Entrepreneurship program and serve in different capacities around the neighborhood.
Communications & Storytelling: The Communication and Storytelling intern will spend a portion of their time capturing the stories of different programs in the neighborhood across all organizations the interns work with. If you have the creative eye for photography and video production and love to tell good stories this is the position for you. You will also have the opportunity to assist in other areas.
Community Engagement & Events: The Community Engagement and events intern is responsible for planning two community events during the summer with assistance from full-time staff and neighbors. You will have the responsibility to plan and implement all the nuts and bolts of pulling off the event. You will also be assigned another job for the summer as well.
