Summer 2026 Commercial Banking Internship

Overview

The Commercial Banking team manages business relationships by advising clients, analyzing loan requests, and helping organizations meet growth goals. They play a critical role in ensuring businesses have the financial support needed to succeed. Interns will learn about covenant testing, due diligence, and how commercial bankers evaluate and manage lending relationships. Interns will gain exposure to sales, underwriting, and closing processes while learning how commercial lending contributes to the bank’s success.
 

Location

Encinitas, CA (Onsite Primary)

 

Key Responsibilities

Shadow and support lending teams to learn the lending cycle

Assist with tasks related to sales, underwriting, and loan closings

Work on projects that provide exposure to cross-departmental areas

Support departmental projects that strengthen commercial banking relationships

 

Qualifications

Current full-time student enrolled in an accredited undergraduate degree program

Degree emphasis in Finance, Banking or related field

Expected graduation date of May 2027 or May 2028

 

Preferred Skills

Interest in business banking and financial services

Strong organizational and analytical skills

Comfort using Excel and financial tools

Communication and teamwork abilities

Ability to balance multiple projects
