Position: Science Tutor
Position Description: Archbishop Hoban High School seeks a part-time Science tutor. The primary course content is biology, but the candidate should be familiar with chemistry and physics. This position is 16-20 hours per week.

Position Responsibilities:
- Contribute to student instruction and advancement by demonstrating academic competence in subject-specific areas.
- Develop and implement lesson plans and study strategies tailored to individual student needs.
- Guide the instructional process toward achieving curriculum goals and prepare for exams and assignments.
- Build meaningful connections and positive working relationships by creating a friendly, encouraging and welcoming environment.
- Provide individualized or small group tutoring sessions.
- Assess, measure and document student development and progress.
- Work collaboratively to improve instruction and learning while sharing the responsibilities for outcomes with the teachers and principal.
- Contribute to and participate in ongoing professional development.
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree.
- Ability to acquire a substitute teaching license.
- Prior tutoring experience in a school setting is preferred.
- Patience, enthusiasm and a strong commitment to student success.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles.
- Ability to work with school technology (use of academic software, Google, etc.).
- Appropriate criminal records check by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Have attended or willing to attend a VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children training.
