Program Coordinator Intern

About DancePhreakz Academy:
DancePhreakz is a cutting-edge dance and entertainment company dedicated to fostering diversity, creativity, and professional growth in the performing arts. We are launching a brand-new training academy designed to cultivate talent through structured programs, professional development, and community events. We’re looking for a hands-on, highly organized Program Coordinator to help launch and grow this exciting new division from the ground up.

About the Internship

DancePhreakz is a fast-growing dance and entertainment company producing live shows, workshops, and a professional training academy.
We are seeking a Program Coordinator Assistant Intern in the Los Angeles Area (or general southern Los Angeles area)  to support the planning and execution of our Academy programs and live shows.

This internship is ideal for a current college student or recent graduate interested in arts administration, event production, and program management. You will gain hands-on experience working directly with our Program Coordinator and CEO, helping to organize classes, events, and performances.

What You’ll Learn & Do

  • Assist with scheduling, communication, and day-to-day operations for DancePhreakz Academy classes, training programs, workshops, and live shows.
  • Help coordinate instructors, performers, vendors, and students—both in-person and online.
  • Support marketing efforts, including social media updates, promotional campaigns, and event flyers.
  • Assist with website updates to keep class schedules and event information current.
  • Help plan and staff photoshoots, rehearsals, and content-creation days.
  • Track participant registration, attendance, and feedback to improve future programming.
  • Provide excellent customer service to students, staff, performers, and community partners.
  • Collaborate with team members during live productions, including backstage or front-of-house support.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college/university program in arts administration, communications, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills.
  • Clear, professional communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Comfort using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and social media platforms.
  • Interest in event production, performing arts, or creative program development.
  • Ability to multitask, work independently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with Canva, Mailchimp, or website builders (Wix, Squarespace, WordPress) is a plus.

Internship Details

  • Schedule: Approx. 10–15 hours per week; some evenings and weekends for shows or events.
  • Location: Hybrid—remote work plus on-site support in Gardena, CA.
  • Compensation: Paid internship; stipend provided.
  • Academic credit available if approved by your institution.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear and use hands or fingers to handle objects.
  • The employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The noise level in the work environment is generally low to moderate.
  • Remote/Hybrid work environment with some office presence in Gardena, CA.
  • Part-time contracted position
