Photo/VID Studio Technician
DUTIES: Inspect video production gear (cameras, lenses, lights, audio, etc.) for damage and prep it for checkouts to support student use for class projects. Tasks include completion of detailed kit inspections for damage and missing parts, maintenance and minor repairs of delicate electronic equipment, as well as preparing cage gear for checkout and resetting said gear in preparation for future checkouts. Most hours will be on the weekend, which requires the demonstrated ability to exercise sound independent judgment with little direct supervision during work hours.
QUALIFICATIONS: This job requires extensive knowledge of the specific cinema camera kits, audio gear, lighting and other advanced equipment used by the PHOTO/VID program. As such, the opportunity is only open to experienced UW-Stout PHOTO/VID Lab Assistants who have been in the job for at least a year. If you are not a current PHOTO/VID Lab Assistant, please do not apply. Also, this job is not a good match for anyone are unable to consistently work weekend shifts (Saturdays and Sundays and some Friday evenings).
