PhilanQuant, L3C is a high impact, pioneering social enterprise at the intersection of robotics, additive manufacturing, and sustainable construction. Our mission is to reimagine affordable housing by building smarter, faster, and greener. Our first milestone is delivering Chicago’s first 3D-printed multifamily home that is designed  to lower costs and accelerate timelines, and also to strengthen community affordability through a proprietary modeling platform that combines construction data, poverty mapping, and neighborhood needs to ensure our developments remain affordable overtime and remains a net positive on the community to not price them out.

Role Overview
We are seeking a Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead all technology and engineering for PhilanQuant, L3C’s housing platform. This role is ideal for someone with a blend of engineering expertise, architectural knowledge, and a passion for robotics and additive manufacturing. You will design and implement the technical systems behind our housing model, from robotics and materials innovation to the data platform that measures community impact. As a co-founder, you will help shape the technology vision, build the engineering team, and scale a model of housing that is both sustainable and socially transformative.

Responsibilities

Lead technical design and execution of 3D-printed multifamily housing builds.

Explore and implement robotics, automation, and advanced building materials.

Collaborate with architects and engineers to create code-compliant, scalable housing designs.

Develop partnerships with universities, research labs, and 3D printing innovators.

Build the technical roadmap for scaling PhilanQuant, L3C’s affordable housing model nationally.

Qualifications

Degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience); architectural skills preferred.

Hands-on experience in construction engineering, prefabrication, robotics, or additive manufacturing.

Knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and sustainable construction practices.

Engineering/architecture license preferred but not required.

Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to innovate and prototype quickly.

Compensation
This is an equity-only co-founder role. You will receive a significant ownership stake in PhilanQuant, L3C as part of the founding team.
