About the Intervention Program

The School-age Clinic’s ABA therapy program at Aria Alessia Kids Health Clinic utilizes a person centered approach and includes structured activities and interventions that provide instruction and support in 7 key areas. The In-home services division provides intensive, community and home-based services in a number of critical areas. These include:

  1. Cognitive and Executive functioning skills
  2. Social skills
  3. Pre-vocational skill development
  4. Independence, Adaptive behavior and self-care skills
  5. Functional Communication System
  6. Behavior programming and emotion regulation techniques
  7. Leisure time exposure, community integration and inclusion

The program provides a family-centered approach - ensuring that caregivers are not only implementing strategies but are involved in setting treatment goals and making decisions about interventions. A high degree of structure exemplified by scheduling, routine and visual and auditory adaptations is combined with a commitment to individualization, community inclusion and skill acquisition to provide participants the opportunity to achieve the highest degree of independence and growth possible.

 

Job Summary

A Behavior Therapy Associate at Aria Alessia Kids Health Clinic works directly with infants, young children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disabilities.

The Associate must have and build a strong understanding of strategies and tools that can be used to provide Applied Behavior Analysis therapy services. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide skills training and designed therapeutic interventions under the supervision of a behavior specialist
  • To carry parent interventions and train new staff under supervision to ensure clinical intervention plan is properly implemented
  • To communicate clinical rationales to parents and other staff working with the child and to role model at all times appropriate tone, implementation of habilitative and behavioral programming and appropriate data collection techniques
  • To role model the use of child-centered philosophy and child-centered tools.
  • To conduct behavior assessments under the supervision of a behavior specialist.
  • Timely and accurate completion of end-of-session progress notes and data on the interventions implemented.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications

  • Completion of a Bachelor's or master's degree in any subject
    OR
    Be enrolled in a similar 2 or 4-year degree program
  • Must complete 40 hrs of RBT training within 6 months of beginning the position
  • Complete on-the-job supervision with a BCBA to become an RBT within 6 months of beginning the position
  • Take required Pearson exam to become a registered behavior technician or board certified autism technician within six months of beginning the position
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

 

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, child development, communication disorders, special education, sociology, elementary education, early childhood education, applied behavioral sciences, or human development and family sciences
  • At least 2 yrs experience of working with developmentally delayed and/or brain injured populations
  • CPR and First Aid certificates

 

Job Type: Full-time (40 hrs/week)

Pay: From $16.88/hr to $20.60/hr

Shift: 4 or 8 hr shifts

Schedule: various shifts available 7 days of the week, evenings and weekends may be required.
