Nurse Practitioner (Pediatric, Family Medicine and/ or Psychiatric)

Job Description

Aria Alessia Kids Health Clinic is seeking a compassionate and skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive care for children and families with a wide range of developmental, behavioral and emotional concerns. The NP will conduct evaluations, provide primary and/or psychiatric care, collaborate with clinicians across disciplines and support families through medication management, individualized treatment planning and ongoing care coordination.

 

This role is ideal for a clinician who values teamwork, diagnostic excellence and empowering families with clear pathways to care. This fully remote position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of children and families by providing expert evaluations, diagnosis, medication management and treatment planning for a variety of conditions.

 

Part-time and full-time opportunities available. 100% Telehealth or Hybrid position.

Candidates dual certified in Pediatric or Family Medicine AND Psychiatry may be prioritized.
 

Qualifications

  • Completion of an approved Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner program with a MSN or DNP - Family Medicine, Pediatric Primary Care, Psychiatry
  • State licensure/board certification as a pediatric, family and/or psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner
  • Prescriptive authority & DEA in state of licensure
  • Clinical experience in pediatric or family medicine, behavioral health, developmental medicine or related settings.
  • You are a provider who is trauma-informed and has education in behavioral health

 

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience with diagnosing and managing common pediatric conditions and developmental disorders
  • Experience providing care to children with autism, ADHD, sensory processing disorders, anxiety, depression, developmental delays, ODD, conduct disorder, trauma among other emotional and behavioral disorders.
  • Experience performing structured parent interviews and assessments aligned with DSM 5-TR diagnostic criteria
  • Experience working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary care team
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics or a related specialty
  • Doctor of Nursing Practice or PhD degree.

Licenses

  • Must be licensed in one of the following states
    • Oregon, Washington, North Dakota, Nevada, Idaho, California, Utah, Minnesota, Iowa, Montana, Illinois

Responsibilities

  • Experience with both pediatric and family medicine, informed consent, and holistic approaches to care
  • Experience with behavioral medicine and psychiatry
  • Provides primary healthcare to infants, children and families
  • Perform physical exams, health histories and assessments, and developmental screenings for pediatric patients.
  • Evaluate growth patterns and developmental milestones.
  • Provides assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of common pediatric illnesses, minor traumas, chronic conditions, and behavioral problems
  • Collaborate with psychologists, therapists, behavior analysts, speech language pathologists, social workers and other team members to integrate assessment findings into cohesive treatment plans.
  • Provide diagnostic impressions, medical oversight and treatment recommendations tailored to each child’s needs.
  • Develop care plans that may include therapy referrals, behavioral health services, educational supports and community resources.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic laboratory and radiology tests, order and interpret age-appropriate screening tests.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments, including preventive care and immunizations.
     
  • Educate patients and families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and management of chronic conditions.
  • Educate families about child development and milestones.
  • Provide clear communication, emotional support and compassionate guidance to families navigating childhood illness, diagnoses and treatment options
  • Formulate a family-centered healthcare plan recognizing the child and family as active participants
  • Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of prescribed treatment plans
  • Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences and contribute medical expertise to care planning discussions.
     
  • Document all patient interactions and treatment plans accurately and in a timely manner
  • Follow established standards of practice within the Nurse Practitioner scope of practice
  • Additional duties may be assigned dependent on individual role
  • Assume accountability for professional actions, including incorporating risk management strategies into clinical practice
  • Facilitate a timely exchange of communication and information to ensure continuity of care
  • Advocate for children’s health and development within the community and healthcare settings.
  • Maintain open communication with the collaborating providers for patient care.
  • Refer patients to specialists as needed.
  • Consult with other professionals when unusual or complex cases are encountered.
  • Work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.

  • Ability to function in a variety of roles such as healthcare provider, consultant and/or educator
  • Demonstrate practice consistent with professional standards, including State Board of Nursing regulations for advanced practice nurses
  • Maintain clinical competency through continuing education and modify practice consistent with current practice guidelines and clinical recommendations for primary healthcare of children
  • Ability to develop a quick rapport and maintain long-term relationships with patients and families
  • Excellent communication skills with children, families and multidisciplinary colleagues.
  • Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care delivery.
