Supply Chain Intern

Food City Interns work on meaningful projects spanning all solutions and services throughout the company. Created for upcoming Junior and Senior college students, our full-time (40 hours/week), 12-week programs are designed to provide hands-on experience within your area of interest. As an Intern, you will join over 19,000 talented individuals across five states who are leaders, critical thinkers, accountable, innovative, flexible, and results-minded with the same goal – to better serve our communities.

Description: We are seeking a highly motivated intern to support the operations and growth of KVAT Food Stores, Inc.’s private brands. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in strategic planning, supplier relations, and category management within a dynamic retail environment. The intern will work closely with the Business Manager and cross-functional teams to help implement business strategies, streamline operations, and identify new market opportunities. The intern will assist in executing strategic plans aimed at achieving sales and margin goals for private label products. This includes supporting promotional planning, analyzing sales trends, and helping prepare presentations for category managers. The role also involves managing product data such as cost changes, new item surveys, and pricing gaps, while contributing to plan-o-gram updates and marketing initiatives. Interns will gain exposure to supplier communications, including assisting with deduction resolution and maintaining relationships with sourcing partners like Topco. In addition to strategic tasks, the intern will help ensure operational efficiency by supporting the completion and distribution of key reports and documents. In addition, interns are assigned a project and expected to complete a final presentation summarizing their work and share their insights with company leaders at the conclusion of the internship.

Program Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university as a Junior or Senior, majoring in a relevant field of study.
  • Recently graduated with an undergraduate degree and are currently majority in a relevant field of study.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA, cumulative.
  • Have strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
  • Ability to preserve confidentiality of company information.
  • Ability to work with own initiative.

Not Required, but Encouraged:

  • Previous experience in a professional work environment
  • Participation in leadership roles
  • Community involvement and volunteerism
