Senior Accountant

Job Opportunity - Senior Accountant with Clovernook Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Cincinnati, OH

The Senior Accountant manages function-based accounting, handles month-end close tasks, and reconciles balance sheets to ensure the organization’s financial integrity.

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Reflect Clovernook’s mission, vision, and core values in daily interactions with consumers, staff, and all internal and external constituencies.
  • Maintain an automated inventory management system and record inventory costs in accordance with GAAP. Oversee regular physical inventory counts.
  • Maintain and reconcile an automated fixed asset system and record related journal entries.
  • Manage accounts receivable collections, cash application, and maintenance, including reconciliation and credit management.
  • Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts from the general ledger to subsidiary ledgers.
  • Complete other month-end close duties as assigned.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports.
  • Assist in the successful completion of the annual audit by independent auditors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree in accounting.
  • 2-4 years of general accounting experience required.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, ability to exercise sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize technology to streamline accounting processes and proficiency in Excel.
