Accounts Payable Specialist

At Piedmont Airlines, our strength is the way we deliver industry leading service to our customers and airline partners. To continue our standard of excellence, Piedmont is seeking a motivated, reliable individual to join our team as an Accounts Payable Specialist I. The primary responsibility of the position is to accurately process Accounts Payable transactions.  This position will report to the Accounts Payable Supervisor.

 

Essential Duties

Process transactions, including invoices, ensuring accuracy

Reconcile vendor statements, inventory, etc.

Research and correct discrepancies

Explain variances

Report on findings

Communicate with stakeholders, including vendors, stations, and management, and answer their questions

Maintain files and documentation

Verify payments

Process incoming communications

 

Job Qualifications and Competencies

Basic computer knowledge

Accounting knowledge

Data entry experience

 

Preferred Qualifications

Organized and detail-oriented

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel

Strong Mathematical skills

Associate Degree in Accounting, Mathematics, other related field, or relevant work experience

 

Work Environment

Standard office environment, use of telephones, computers, and other office equipment

 

Physical Requirements

Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds

Employment is contingent upon a clear driving record, 10-year Criminal History Records Check, and drug screen as required. We also require proof of high school or GED completion. Minimum 18 years of age.

Starting Rate:

$17.00/Hourly
