Job Title: Bi-Vocational Senior Pastor

Reports To: Elder Board / Church Leadership Team Housing: Parsonage is not provided. 

Position Summary 

New Hope Community Church is a Christ-centered, Bible-teaching, non-denominational congregation seeking a Bi-Vocational Senior Pastor to shepherd our church family through biblical preaching, leadership, and care. This is a part-time position suitable for someone who holds additional employment while fulfilling a call to pastoral ministry. 

Key Responsibilities 

Preaching & Teaching 

•  Deliver biblically grounded sermons each Sunday. 
• Provide sound teaching for spiritual growth, discipleship, and outreach. 

Pastoral Care 

•   Offer support, prayer, and counseling to individuals and families. 
• Officiate weddings, funerals, baptisms, and other key church functions. 

Leadership & Collaboration 

•  Partner with the Elder Board and ministry leaders in casting vision and direction. 
• Encourage and equip volunteers to lead and serve effectively. 

Church Engagement 

• Be present and involved in the life of the congregation. 
• Foster community, spiritual maturity, and outreach initiatives. 

Administrative Duties (Shared)

•     Attend leadership meetings and assist with church planning.
•     Support church communication and coordination of ministries. 

Fosters an Environment of Transparency in Church Business Decisions

•   Maintains open and honest communication with the congregation regarding financial, administrative, and organizational decisions. Encourages accountability by regularly sharing updates, seeking input where appropriate, and ensuring that members are informed and involved in the stewardship and direction of the church. 

Qualifications 

• A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a life that reflects spiritual maturity. 
• Strong biblical knowledge and commitment to sound doctrine. 
• Some theological education preferred (Bible college/seminary. 
• Previous teaching or pastoral experience preferred. 
• Must be able to manage time well in a bi-vocational capacity. 
• Demonstrates humility, integrity, and a heart for people. 

Additional Information 

• No parsonage is provided; candidates should have or seek independent housing arrangements. 
• Compensation is based on part-time commitment and is to be discussed during the hiring process. 
• This role is currently structured as a bi-vocational (part-time) position, acknowledging the individual may maintain outside employment while fulfilling ministry responsibilities. As the church continues to grow—in attendance, engagement and financial sustainability—it is the mutual intent of church leadership to transition this position into a full-time role. The transition will be based on measurable indicators of church growth, ministry demands, and budgetary capacity, and will be reviewed regularly in alignment with the church’s vision and strategic goals.
